8-10 March 2010
Sidholme, Sidmouth
"Unstoppable: re-discovering the great purposes of God for our lives and the world"
We warmly invite all our serving ministers and spouses to join us for our 2010 Ministers' Conference. As ever we're returning to Sidholme in Sidmouth, so as well as great food and fellowship there'll be the chance for some tranquillity in the beautiful gardens and a stroll along the seafront to catch some sea breezes.
Our main speaker this year will be Malcolm Duncan of Church and Community, former head of Faithworks. Malcolm has a great passion for seeing churches engaged in integral mission and service to their local communities.
During the conference Malcolm will be exploring the need to rediscover the great story of our faith through Scripture. He will be challenging us to catch a glimpse again of God's unstoppable purposes in our lives and in the world around us and will paint a picture of the place and role of the local church that will capture our imaginations and challenge our stereotypes. He will be calling us back to the centrality, not just of our own callings, but of the need to rediscover the power of vocation in the lives of all God's people. By weaving a tapestry from theology, mission and devotion, Malcolm will remind us of God's unstoppable plan in the world, power through the ministry of Christ and calling to change the world.
In addition to Malcolm's ministry we're also really delighted to have two other guests: singer/songwriter Paul Field, back by popular demand for another live performance of his latest songs, and Jonathan Woodhouse, Deputy Chaplain General (Army) will be joining us to share something of his experiences of ministry amongst the armed forces. All in all it will be a really varied programme.
