Our Fellowship Appeal gives the opportunity for one church each year to request the support of the other churches in the Association for a specific project. The Appeal is launched at our Annual Assembly in June, and runs for a full year.

For the year 2009-10 our Fellowship Appeal Church is Paignton Baptist Church, Winner Street.

We are certain that after the fire in 2007 God has guided us through each phase of building our new centre. We are also certain that He has much more in store for our Church during the coming years.

The Youth Hall was a very well used part of our church. There we held our Sunday morning coffee and fellowship, Girls & Boys Brigades, coffee mornings and many of our outreach activities.

With prayer we found the courage to take the massive step of faith God required of us, and to trust in Him to provide the funds needed.

After we had given and borrowed all that we could, we only had enough money to complete the ground floor, but Praise God on Christmas Morning 2008 we received a cheque for £100,000 for the project.

We could now build both floors. Once more, due to escalating building costs we found ourselves short of funds again. However on Easter Sunday we received a further gift of £25,000. The Centre could now be completed. God is Good!

By the middle of June 2009 the building was well on the way to being completed. The painting and final touches to be carried out by church volunteers and friends.

Our request to the SWBA in Feb. to be the Fellowship Appeal Church 2009/2010 was for seating for the new Centre as the fire had irreparably damaged our chairs and many other items necessary to carry out our out reach plans for the centre. Again God had his hand upon Paignton Baptist Church and we were successful in our appeal.

Advantages of New Centre
• The centre’s open glass frontage gives us a greater presence on Winner Street.
• The new centre will improve our outreach to the people with whom we have regular contact through our various weekly organisations, but who never come on Sunday.
• The variety of different size rooms gives us greater scope to reach out to and support the local community; and to better meet our own needs.
