After a two year hiatus when we've had to gather online because of COVID, we were delighted to be able to meet together again in the same place for our Ministry Retreat in March 2023!
It was such a pleasure to retreat to the breathtakingly beautiful Lee Abbey, North Devon and we were well blessed by the community there who led us in some inspirational and incredibly moving reflections around their estate as well as leading us in worship, inviting us to be part of their daily rhythm of prayer, and sharing warm hospitality with us.
We were thrilled to welcome Steve Aisthorpe as our Retreat speaker this year. Steve is Mission Development lead for the Church of Scotland and author of ‘The Invisible Church’ & ‘Rewilding the Church’. He helped us consider what might happen if the ecological concept of rewilding, which allows nature to break free from managed control and restores wonder to our lives, was applied to the Church. He asked, ‘What would happen if we put less faith in our own strategies and plans, depended less on our own capabilities and resources, and allowed the Spirit to lead us beyond the limits of our imaginations?’
