Youth Essentials Training – South West Baptist Association

Are you a Volunteer or Paid Youth Leader in your Local Church/Community?

Essentials is an exciting course that will equip and strengthen anyone working with young people, and we are so pleased to offer it FREE OF CHARGE to all youth leaders in our associations.

Whether you’re running a community project, a church youth group, or occasionally helping out on a Sunday morning, this course is designed with you in mind!

Youthscape Essentials covers 30 topics. The topics are divided into Insights into Young People, Skills for Youth Work and Developing Character. You’ll listen to young people, learn from professionals, participate in practical exercises and take time to deepen your own faith. It makes no assumptions about your experience, age or background. It’s accessible to those starting out as volunteers, but deep enough to stretch those who have been working alongside young people for longer.

Wednesday 29^th April - DEEP DIVE, Transgender: Understanding & Response, 7-8.45pm (Please contact Glenda for details to book)

Wednesday 13^th May - Session 3
Wednesday 20^th May - Session 4
Wednesday 27^th May - Half Term
Wednesday 3^rd June - Session 5
Wednesday 10^th June - Session 6
Wednesday 17^th June - No session, CYF Leader retreat
Wednesday 24^th June - Session 7
Wednesday 1^st July - Session 8
Wednesday 8^th July - Session 9
Wednesday 15^th July - Session 10

This 10-week course will be led by Glenda Chadwick-Down, SWBA Regional Mission Enabler for Children, Youth & Families and Savannah Bell, Youth & Pioneer Minister in the Southern Counties Baptist Association.

There is no charge for this course, and once you have registered you will also receive a copy of the accompanying handbook which will be posted to you.
