More information

An Urban Saints event. Includes an e-workbook, access to video content, and an interactive online group training session.

We explore child development, focussing on areas that influence behaviour such as emotional, moral, social, intellectual and physical development.

We explore behaviour itself in more detail, thinking about the negative labels that can be associated with behaviour and how to change that perception.

We explore associated topics such as trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH).

Our key focus is in unpacking how behaviour is communication, and understanding what a child or young person is communicating to us is critical to us supporting them.

We also have case studies to work through, discussion and Q&A times, and more.

The 'All Inclusive?' - Understanding Behaviour in Children and Young People with Additional Needs -training programme includes:

- A training e-workbook with a wealth of information, links and resources provided for each participant in advance.

- Access to videos to explore and learn through, covering a range of topics including a family’s story of journeying with a young person with unconventional behaviour, as well as a look at appropriate and inappropriate behaviour.

- Finally, a Zoom session including discussion groups, case studies, Q&A, and signposting to further resources to investigate, as we wrap this programme up together.

“The Understanding Behaviour… session was useful and is definitely very important in the work we all do - and in life generally. I really like the picture you shared with the iceberg and the submarine. I'm going to print that and put it inside our children's work cupboard for the benefit of the leaders. The course has been really thought provoking so far and full of useful ideas and information.”
