PFS – Leadership pt.2
This online training would be ideally suited to all leaders in Baptist churches (Deacons, Elders, Small Group Leaders etc.) and especially helpful for those who are feeling called to serve their church in these roles in the future.
The training is being led by Rev. Nigel Manges (Regional Minister – Ministry, SWBA) and will take place on Saturdays 12th Sept and 10th Oct (3hrs per day with ample breaks) as part of our ‘Prepare-Feed-Sustain’ training programme.
Booking is now open. Please book here – https://bookwhen.com/
Participants can just attend the training via Zoom (£25) or they can choose to do some further study and submit two short assignments to help them process the teaching content (£50). We normally suggest that, where possible, churches offer to contribute some or all of the costs for those from their membership who might use this training to serve their church in the future.
The aims of these teaching days are,
o To explore the nature of Christian leadership, both personal and collaborative, in the context of a Baptist church.
o To examine what happens in situations of conflict, and how good processes of mediation can be employed.
o To help participants respond to specific issues which arise in life of a local church, such as the conduct of weddings and funerals.
The intended learning outcomes are,
o An awareness of different styles of leadership, and what it might mean to develop a Christian approach to leadership within a Baptist church.
o An ability to reflect theologically on such pastoral issues as marriage and bereavement, and to attend to the practical issues involved.
o An ability to attend to the management and organisation of a Baptist church.
