One of the SWBA's central aims is to provide training opportunities to help resource those in our family of churches. We try to do that through our Learning Community in a number of ways...
INVEST Missional Ministry Trainees - The South West Baptist Association (SWBA) and South West Youth Ministries (SWYM) are offering individuals the chance to explore ministry based within a missional context with outstanding support and training with SWYM. Click here for more details.
Prepare, Feed, Sustain - our Learning Community is the South West training centre for Bristol Baptist College's popular 'Prepare, Feed, Sustain' (PFS) course. This comprehensive 12-module course is open to all, no matter what your background or level of education. You can choose to attend either individual modules or all twelve. Subjects range from Pastoral Care and Worship Leading to Doing Theology and Reading & Using the Bible. More details here.
The Crucible Course - designed to resource and release pioneers and church planters, this modular course is also part of our South West Learning Community.
Safeguarding Training - we run a rolling programme of Safeguarding training with BUGB trained trainers through the year at various venues across the South West. We strongly encourage you to attend if you are a church leader/trustee/Designated Person for Safeguarding or a leader/helper of a group where children/young people/adults at risk are present. Please click here for details of dates/venues or contact Kathy: kathy@swbaptists.org.uk if you have any queries.
Ministers' Conference - once a year we invite all the Minister's and their spouses from SWBA churches to a three-day conference. This is designed to be a time to meet up and encourage each other, relax and re-charge a little and to be stimulated by some teaching from our conference speaker. Dates, venues and other information about our next conference can be found here.
If you have ideas for any other ways we can resource you for the mission of God in your area, please do let us know...
